Alexander EMERY

-MARRIED-At the residence of the bride's parents, Oct. 6, 1891, Mr. Alexander EMERY and Miss Sadie SHAFER. Rev. CORNELIA, of Roscommon officiating. The happy couple took the noon train for the Southern part of the State. (8 Oct 1891)

-Born to Mr. and Mrs. Al. EMERY, of Center Plains, on the 8th inst., a daughter. Mother and child doing well. (12 Jul 1894)

-Supervisor EMORY, of Center Plains, and his wife rejoice in the posession of a new girl baby at their home, born Dec. 4th. (10 Dec 1896)

-Supervisor A. EMORY, of Center Plains, has sold all his stock with his farm, and bought another farm with stock and tools in Gratiot Co., east of St. Louis. When he gets thoroughly sick of the mud down there he will come back home to stay. We regret his going, and will welcome his return. (14 Oct 1897)

-Al. EMERY, who recently moved to the south part of the state, surprised us yesterday by walking into our office. In reply to our query as to what brought him back, he said that there was nothing to do down where he lived, and he had come back, looking for work. He will put in cedar ties and telegraph poles, banking them on the Hauptman Branch. He has a six miles haul. - Ros. News. (27 Jan 1898)


Sadie SHAFER

-Mrs. Sadie EMERY, eldest daughter of H. T. SHAFER, has purchased the W. R. LOVE farm, in Center Plains township, and H. T. SHAFER the cows and young stock. (5 Apr 1894)

-After waiting thirty years, a pension has been granted to Comrade Henry T. SHAFFER, a former resident of Beaver Creek, now of Breckenridge. There was no reason for the delay. (4 Sep 1902)

Walter BUCK

The following information extracted from the Grayling, Crawford Co., MI Newspaper Avalanche. NOTE: The date at the end of each extract indicates the date of the publication:
-DIED, At the residence of Holloway S. BUCK, his son, in Maple Forest, Feb. 11, Walter Buch, aged 85 years.
The deceased was born in Erie Co., N. Y., April 27, 1807, and settled at Linden, Genesee, county, Mich. in 1844, where his first wife died, and where he was remarried. His second wife lived but a few years and was buried at Linden.
He has made his home for the last 24 years with his son, Holloway, with whom he came to this county in 1879. But two others, of nine children survive him.
An ever honest, upright respected citizen has gone home. (18 Feb 1892)
