-At the meeting Monday night, to organize a Hose Company, J. E. McKNIGHT was elected Captain and Joseph BURTON, assistant. T. A. CARNEY is foreman of Hose Cart No. 1, and Halger HANSON of No. 2. (8 Feb 1894)

-Mrs. T. A. CARNEY and two daughters went to Bay City, last week, for a visit with friends and relatives. (5 Apr 1894)

-Ill luck never comes singly. We have to report that our under-sheriff, T. A. CARNEY, has bought a steam laundry at Holly, and will remove his family to that city. Mr. CARNEY has been a hustler ever since he has lived in Grayling, and with his family will leave a host of friends here. We regret his going, but wish him every success in his new business. Mrs. T. A. CARNEY HILLIKER

-Mrs. Birdseye KNIGHT of Bay City, who has been visiting with her sister Mrs. T. A. CARNEY, returned home last Thursday. (10 Sep 1896)

Mrs. S. W. MURPHY HARRINGTON

-DIED.
At Midland, Mich., Jan. 27th, 1894, Henry HARRINGTON, aged 79 years.
Henry HARRINGTON was born in Cumberland Co., Eng., in 1815; came to America in 1831, making his home at Central Square, N. Y., until 1882, when he came to Midland, Mich., where he passed peacefully away, without any previous sickness, on the evening of Jan. 27th, 1894.
He leaves, to mourn his loss, a widow in very poor health; two sons, John S., of this place, and T. W. HARRINGTON, of Colorado; two daughters, Mrs. S. W. MURPHY, of Midland, and Mrs. L. J. TRYON, formerly of Grayling, but now living at Fenton.
Mr. HARRINTON had lived for many years a consistent Christian life, and won hosts of friends wherever he went. His firm trust in the Lord, of which he so often spoke during the past ten weeks, is proving the greatest consolation to the sorrowing family. (8 Feb 1894)
