They came here from Shiawasse county and entered a government homestead of 160 acres which they have converted from a wilderness into a beautiful farm and home until her age prevented much activity she was ever present in that section, in case of sickness and need and was universally esteemed. She had enjoyed excellent health until two days before her death, when a stroke of paralysis brought the begining of the end which was peaceful and painless. Besides her aged husband, she leaves two sons, John of Beaver Creek, who is with them in the old home and Delos of Owosso and two daughters, Mrs. Emma HASTINGS of Arkansas and Mrs. Jennie WINDSOR of Kalkaska County. The funeral was at the town hall and the burial was at the Beaver Creek Cemetery, near their home. (13 Jul 1905)

-The body of James P. HANNA, arrived here yesterday morning from Kansas, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. T. E. HASTINGS, with whom he had been since the death of his wife, last year. Mr. HANNA was one of the early pioneers of Beaver Creek, in this county, a successful and progressive farmer, and a man of unblemished character and undoubted integrity. We think he had passed four score years of life. He will be buried today from his old home, by the side of the wife with whom he had lived for more than half a century, and both will be long remembered for the good deeds of their life.
