BOCHES

-Mrs. BOCHES, French-Indian, who has been in charge of Kalkaska county for a number of years, died Saturday, aged 111 years. She was the oldest person in the county and probably in the state, and had always lived in this vicinity. Det. Journal. (5 Feb 1891)

-Mrs. Barbara COLLINS, widow of James COLLINS, formerly of Frederic, died March 15th, at Medina County, Ohio. She will be well remembered by the pioneers of the county. (1 Apr 1897)


Dr. C. W. SMITH

-Mrs. C. W. SMITH went to Flushing to-day, to attend the funeral of her brother, who died at Colorado Springs, while on his way home from California. (9 Apr 1891)

-The mother, of Dr. C. W. SMITH, died in her home in Iowa, last Saturday. (21 Jan 1892)

-Dr. C. W. SMITH, health physician, reports having vaccinated over four hundred Graylingites. (28 Jun 1894)

-Dr. WOOLFE, successor to Dr. C. W. SMITH, has arrived in the city and opened an office in Davis' drug store. We welcome him. (21 Feb 1895)

-A special telegram to the Detroit Journal, says that Dr. C. W. SMITH is violentely insane from the morphine or some other similar habit. (10 Dec 1896)

-Ralph W. SMITH, of Owosso, takes exception to a dispatch published in the Journal on a recent date, in which were related various episodes illustrating the alleged eccentricities of Dr. C. W. SMITH, of Owosso. The item also stated that the doctor was at Durand, insane, and that his son had gone to that town to care for him. The story, he says is untrue, from beginning to end, and reflected injuriously on his father. - Detroit Journal. (17 Dec 1896)

-Ralph SMITH, son of Dr. C. W. SMITH, is the happy possessor of a brand new Cornet, presented by his father. (22 Dec 1892)

-Last Thursday was the 18th. anniversary of the birth of Ralph SMITH, and it was taken advantage of by his young friends to give him a surprise party. The guests numbered about fifteen or twenty and the evening was passed with music, games, etc., in a very enjoyable manner. (10 Jan 1895)

-Jasper N. WEST, an old resident of Grayling, returned from Delta, Ohio, where he has been living for the past two years. He does not want any South or East in his. They all return sooner or later. (15 Mar 1894)
